Original artwork description:

The painting originated from sketches made walking through grasses buffeted by the winds near the shore. Returning to the studio I knew the colour palate I wanted to use, (it's surprising the amount of red you find in the growth of wild grasses). As the painting neared completion I added the little design details of crosses, grids and other marks, and the result put me in mind of a rich tartan fabric! So although not a Scottish scene, a Scottish name. On canvas, the painting can be framed or not as you wish, as per usual I initial the front and sign the back of my work. Full of movement and colour I hope you like it. Canvas depth is 1.5cm
