Tarantula Nebula is in the dwarf galaxy, Large Magellanic Cloud, which is quite close to the Milky Way. It can be seen with the naked eye. And in that mass of wonder lies the beauty that allowed me to create this visual feast. My creativity guide in painting is my passion for the heavens as well as the beauty here on Earth.

I am an amateur astronomer and from my observatory I can wander the heavens on many dark nights. A painting with this 'presence' needs to be seen so that the many layers of oils I patiently applied, allows your eye to travel through and transport you to a wonderful shining place.

Materials used:

Canvas stretched on timber cradle, professional oils, final varnish applied. Painted on all edges.
