This tango scene, set in a metropolitan street, is the first artwork in which Assunta Cassa experiments the use of the palette knife together with the brush. She paints the scene on two levels, the main one, in focus, painted with the brush gradient technique, the other, in the background, represented in an abstract way, using the palette knife that gives materiality. It is almost as if unconsciously she brings out the unfocused part of the scene. This work can be considered the milestone, from which the artist's current painting technique was born.
