Original artwork description:

This 9 x 12 inch wood collage is the second assemblage exploring colour and geometric abstraction. This is a bold yet compact statement piece.
Shapes mostly of 3mm mdf with a few deeper protruding shapes and ranging in size from tiny to 10cm have been assembled like a jigsaw. Once a configuration was achieved each piece was sealed, gessoed and sanded before acrylic paint was applied.
Some pieces have shapes or lines painted on while some are blocks of colour that create patterns. The bottom right corner has a square dedicated to Joseph Albers 'Homage to the square'
The layout and colours changed a few times before the conclusion that I present to you now.
An assortment of colours using matte acrylic by Golden and acrylic gouache by Holbein which is also matte paint have been used on this work along with a strong wood glue to affix to the Ampersand board. the edges of the board has been left natural.

This art is ready to hang straight onto a nail as it has a key hole slot on the back which will sit flush to the wall.
Alternatively you could elevate the presence of this piece by framing in a tray frame or float mounted behind glass. Your local framer would be best to ask to see the options they offer.
