What you are seeing is a digital copystand image of the actual hand printed photograph that is for sale, it has not been manipulated.
It is a 24"x20" signed "artists proof" colour photograph hand printed in the darkroom.
An oversize negative carrier was used to get the black border around the image, its a detail I like to do in the darkroom but is very difficult & can only be done when printing full frame, it is printed on Fuji super glossy archival paper.
I am very good at low light photography but even I was pushing the limits here, the only available light was a candle & the light from the open refrigerator door ! So I had to hand hold at a very slow exposure, probably 1/2second at F2.8 on colour negative film. But that gives the lovely motion blur where Sylvia has moved her hands during the exposure, you can almost see her hand at the beginning & the golden streak across the shot is a ring on her finger.
I love that my photography allows you the viewer to be in my life at that moment, you see exactly what I was seeing through the viewfinder at that time, I capture that moment & make it art.
In today's digital world you will not see many hand printed in the darkroom, colour photographs, especially this large !
