Original artwork description:

I painted this mountain ( Piz Pisoc) on a ski map of the beautiful area of Engadine in the Swiss Alps. There are several known ski resorts nearby such as Klosters and Davos.
I’ve deliberately left small areas of motifs such as ski runs, mountain trains and pine trees as well as some of the place names from the map to give the painting a unique sense of place. Cities such as Venice and Milan to the south of the Alps are also included on the map and appear in the sky in this painting.
The original map came folded to fit in a pocket and so I have made a feature of the folds.

Materials used:

acrylic, ink, watercolour and gesso on a pre-printed ski map.
