If you thought cycling was silent then you've not been standing by the roadside waiting for the riders to fly past. The spectators stand for hours chanting, singing, chatting and sometimes drumming on the advertising boards. Then the riders add to the noise with the swish of air through their spinning wheels.

This painting is created using oil paints on a shallow canvas which is 80 x 60 cm. Signed on the front bottom right. It is framed in a limed-white wood frame.

Copyright of this image remains with the artist - Kathryn Sassall.

Materials used:

W&N (water-soluble) oils and linseed oil.
