Before I start a painting I always first think about what is the most important thing to portray and that really helps me focus on the key elements. Although it is always important to portray movement in water, because it's never static my main focus for 'Swirl of light' was to capture the reflections that really showed the directions that water was moving in. Like 'Skylight reflections' and the majority of my water themed paintings they represent reflections from a skylight at an aquarium.

The painting continues around the sides and is ready to hang.
