Original artwork description:

I made the Swimmer in Blue in 2018 as part of my 'water people' series. It was different from what I had made up until then and reached back to my more graphic work from when I was still at art school. The working title was 'Swimmer in Blue' but later hung under the title 'Dive in' at my solo exhibition. But as so often, the first thought was the best. I 'saw' this swimmer appear in the chaos on my canvas all of a sudden... Maybe I was inspired by the swimming competitions I saw on television. I remember how I enjoyed making my brush and rubber scraper dance across the canvas. Somehow, I just wanted to paint water without blue and without landscape...

The painting can be hung in various ways, according to one's own taste. That's why I will only sign the work on the back.
For Benelux costumers: The work is varnished for protection and an iron wire is attached to the back to make it ready to hang.
For costumers far away from the Netherlands: The painting will be shipped rolled up with the corresponding stretcher bars. Thus, upon arrival, the work will have to be re-stretched. This saves you a lot of shipping costs and is more environmentally friendly (less CO2). Unless you wish otherwise, of course. Please send me a message via this platform and we will make new arrangements. (click the button: contact me)

Materials used:

Oilpaints, cold wax medium, brushes, scrapers and knife
