"Sweet Surrender" is a perfect example of Hunter's expressive and intriguing black and white (with a touch of color) images. Highly surreal, this painting may allude to a dream state or, more metaphysically, to the next stage of life. As usual, it leaves the door open to interpretation. Painted with acrylic on a 24 x 36 x 1.5 inch gallery-wrapped canvas, edge painted black, ready to hang. Like other paintings in his Archaeological Series, Sweet Surrender features the texture derived from multiple layers of storytelling. This image is its concluding chapter.
