Artwork description:

The title of this print is ‘Sweet Longing. I spent a long time considering what the title should be, since for me it has a very specific feeling about it. There has always been a part of me that aches to be somewhere else. I’ve always felt this way, even when I was a child and had never lived outside of California. The more places I live the more I realise that this feeling is independent of place, because no matter where I am I will always desire to be everywhere at once. I made this print with my longing for my birthplace of California in mind. The California I love is that of the northern part of the state. I love the beach on a cold, windy day, because that is how it is most familiar to me. I love the wind-swept cypress trees that have become permanently bent over from the continuous pounding of the sea. Recently I’ve begun to appreciate the way that the places I’ve lived continue to be a part of me.

As all prints are hand pressed, each will have some minor differences, which I believe adds to the character of the print. I cannot guarantee that you will receive the edition featured in the photo. This print is shipped rolled in a tube.
