Swaying Red Gum is a vibrant celebration of nature’s resilience, where Australian gum flowers and leaves bloom in an unexpected yet powerful medium—upcycled plastics. I have drawn inspiration from the serene and expansive Adelaide parkland tree canopy, capturing the quiet strength and beauty of the city’s green heart. This artwork evokes the sense of walking beneath a living tapestry of leaves, where dappled sunlight filters through layers of hanging leaves and flowers. Each leaf and flower texture is meticulously handcrafted, revealing the intricate textures and colors of the natural world, while also telling a deeper story about regeneration and the delicate balance between human impact and the earth’s enduring spirit.
Project - 'For the planet' :
I started doing upcycled artworks since 2016, after a pledge to work for a greener planet. All the collected/found single use plastics with different textures have been upcycled to get unique textures on my artworks. It’s my way of contribution for a greener and better planet. So by collecting one of my original works from this series you are indirectly becoming part of this art journey for a cause.
The artwork is assembled on a circular canvas of size 50 cm diameter. The artwork will be signed on front and side and certificate of authenticity will be attached.
