This Oil Pastel on black paper drawing was done on the second morning of a recent family trip to Sun Moon Lake in Nantou, Taiwan. Whenever I visit this beautiful lake I always enjoy waking up before sunrise and drawing the lake as the day breaks. It is always so peaceful at this time and the water is still and glass like. I love watching and hearing the birds and fish moving as the colours of the lake appear out of the darkness. On this morning there was a definite pink hue in the air and reflected on the water. As these colours change and fade with the dawning of the day it is always a fun and unique challenge to draw things that are disappearing or sometimes no longer there. That is one of the greatest challenges of working “en plein air”.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
