Artwork description:

4 x 6 inches original miniature Linocut print on archival Canson paper (185 gsm)
Very limited edition of 10 prints.
Hand-drawn, hand-carved, hand-pulled
....................................

THE STORY

This print is a depiction of the ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda, the famous Indian monk and philosopher from my city Calcutta. It shows the special part of the courtyard called the 'Thakur Dalan' in Bengali, where prominent festivals would take place, and the festival that I chose to 'celebrate' in this work is Durga Puja, the biggest annual festival in Bengal, marking the arrival of the Goddess Durga, and her victorious power over evil!

THE PROCESS

Hand-drawn, hand-carved, and hand-pulled, this work has been created with a single block of linoleum.

Materials used:

Ink
