This is a painting that I've enjoyed creating many times but of course each version is slightly different in composition. The annual migration of swallows is a wonderful sight and I look forward to seeing them both arrive and sadly depart. Using just one colour - Paynes grey which breaks down into various subtle shades. This is very liberating allowing me to focus on the shape and use of tone to create their solid bodies and flapping wing movement. The painting is un mounted and un framed ready for your own choice but I have shown what it might look like in a simple light coloured mount and black frame.
