Just before midsummer the meadows of Upper Swaledale are ablaze with wild flowers, particularly meadow cranesbills . I travelled there especially to paint this plein-air, 30x24'', oil painting. The blue of cranesbills is hard to capture but I think I got pretty close in this painting
It's comes unframed but is painted round the edge and is ready to hang. It will, of course, look better in a good frame.
