In ancient Greece, the appearance of this alcoholic drink was associated with the satyr Ampelos, a devoted friend of the god of winemaking Dionysus. One day a satyr fell off a cliff and crashed. God missed him very much and asked the great Zeus to return his faithful companion.
A powerful celestial being turned the deceased into a vine, which began to bear fruit, and the drink from them resembled divine nectar. Subsequently, wine, a gift from Olympus, became a symbol of vitality.
