As a Ukrainian today, I live a surreal existence, challenging norms at every turn. In November 2022, I painted this self-portrait, infusing it with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors that capture the surreal nature of my experiences. Through this artwork, I conveyed my deep emotions about war, dignity, and the unyielding fight for freedom. It reflects the life of an ordinary Ukrainian—whose vital contributions to the ongoing conflict may be overlooked yet are profoundly significant.
