A painting from a surf series "SURFER ON A WAVE. UNDERWATER VIEW" shows the moment of riding on a wave from an unusual angle: from under the water. This is how fish, inhabitants of the seabed and extreme photographers see this process.

In addition to the effect of the underwater glance at surfing, the sun shining through the wave is symbolic in this work. The surfer drives straight to the shining light, and it seems that in a second he will dissolve into it. At the same time, a very dark wave remains below, ready to engulf those who have stopped. This movement from darkness to light is highly allegorical, and it's not just about surfing.
