A layered botanical oil painting on a rich dark background. This painting was inspired by the wildflowers in Somerset in particular the pink Rosebay willow herb which grows in the hedgerow. I love the way the leaves creep out of the dark undergrowth reaching for the surface. The colours are deep and strong with hints of pink and yellow and green catching the light.
