Sunset sugarloaf on a Winters Evening is a painting inspired by the mountain that featured in my childhood, we lived here by and drove by the mountain almost daily and I was always a little weary of it as I had been told it was a dormant volcano and I always suspected it might wake up at any moment and erupt!
And now when I pass it I love its strong shape and how it dominates the skyline around it in Wicklow and it makes me smile as I think about my childhood imaginations...
