~Sunset Seascape~ Oil on Canvas 36x24inch
This impressionistic seascape is based on a still, captured by the immensely talented South Australian Lachy Riley.
The piece attempts to depict the tranquility and power of the Australian sea at dusk.
A thick impasto medium was used to build up texture, before an acrylic ground was applied, and then finally the oil painting itself. The result is an extremely textured and tactile sky, however a subtle, blended and smooth colour profile.
