Original artwork description:

When I painted “Sunset of the Red House,” I aimed to capture that warm evening light that seems to gently wrap around the old building. I chose soft transitions of color in the sky to depict the slow fade of daylight into dusk. The figure of a boy in the foreground adds coziness and a touch of nostalgia—I’ve always felt that sunsets seem especially magical during childhood.

However, there is an unusual story behind this piece. Some time after I finished it, the house was torn down to make way for a new road. The title proved symbolic: the road was never actually built, and the building now exists only in my memories and on this canvas. For me, “Sunset of the Red House” became a sort of monument to the rapidly changing face of the city.

The 80×80 cm format makes this painting a focal point in any setting, while the oil technique lends depth and texture that invite extended viewing of its details. I hope this work finds someone who feels the warmth I poured into it and wishes to keep a piece of this elusive beauty.
