This drawing was done “en plein air” whilst watching a few beautiful sunsets warm up the buildings of Melbourne city. There are many tall buildings made from different coloured glass in Melbourne and they change colour all throughout the day depending on the sunlight and weather. It was very interesting to see these changes and how the look and feeling of the city changed. I always love drawing at sunrise and sunset because of how the warm colours illuminate the scene. I liked the contrast in the way the sunlight was still warming up this side of the building and street as the other sides and buildings were shaded and falling into darkness.
