Acrylic painting depicting an evening sunset at Camus More Bay on the Isle of Skye. Camus More is a remote and largely undiscovered settlement in the northern end of the island. A quiet ancient and beautiful spot- I remember walking past it in my youth often usually in the evening. I remember the muted colours the dark blues and greys contrasting with sharp highlights of light and the cold air.
I did this painting from a sketch I did a couple of years ago and finished it in my studio. Although the ruined cottage is probably not an exact representation of how it is today, it is how I remember it.
This painting is done in acrylic paint on 40mm thick box canvas and is coated in two layers of gloss varnish to protect it.
This painting has recently been framed in a floating frame . It is strung and ready to hang.
