An early winter sunrise © 2021. Painted in oil on stretched canvas. The Grove is on the island of Portland, Dorset and the affect of light off the sea at any time during the day is a challenge to capture. I enjoy such a challenge. I love the action of manipulating the oil colours on the canvas and follow the initial flat colour I add further layers using palette knives and large brushes.
