Original artwork description:

This original painting was created in Sabino Canyon in Tucson Arizona. The perspective is from the entrance of the canyon looking up towards the Santa Cantalina Mountains. This work was created en plain air.

From a very cool winter morning in the desert, this painting brings me so much joy, remembering the way the sun felt as it rose and warmed my skin while I painted. The sun streamed across the mountains, creating dramatic shadows against incredibly light highlights. The clouds sat close to the mountains right above, but the sun shown brightly from an angle.

Painting is matted, framed and ready to hang.

Materials used:

watercolor
