My drive to work each day takes me through the Red Lick Valley in Madison County, Kentucky. Pilot Knob has long been used as a landmark for travelers since the time of Daniel Boone. Many mornings the light of rising sun touches the top of the knob as mist rises from the valley below. This impressionistic painting captures the moment the sun comes over the adjoining ridges and shines toward the west. Acrylic with gloss varnish.
