This sun worshipper is part of a collection of snoozing dogs I am working on, it gives me so much pleasure when I see my dogs relaxed and cosy sleeping on the sofas or chairs, I wanted to capture that feeling in this series using colourful soft furnishings to create a vibrant backdrop.

I've used a mix of acrylic and emulsion for this piece on an H18 x W24 inch deep edge stretched canvas, to help the colours stay as vivid and flexible for the longest time I have mixed acrylic paint and bonding gel into the emulsuion. The edges of the canvas are painted dark blue and she is varnished and ready to hang.

This chilled out hound would make a great addition to any dog lovers home in need of a splash of colour and a cool vibe.
