Original artwork description:

Orvieto is one of the most striking and enjoyable hill towns in central Italy.
The city rises dramatically above the almost-vertical faces of tuff cliffs. I love walking its evocative lanes, that seem to keep the mystery of the Middle Ages alive.
This painting was inspired by an intricate patchwork of shadow patterns and sun-bathed cobblestones of a narrow alley, with abundance of textures of stone walls, drenched in sunshine and emitting warm glow.

Materials:
Oil paint on acrylic primed fine to medium tooth linen with an irregular weave, mounted on the archival museum quality Gatorfoam panel. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish.

The painting is unframed, and will require a frame to hang. It will easily fit into a standard (US) 12"x9" frame.
