I painted this painting in April. Early spring sun was blasting through the studio windows. I was sitting on the floor cross-legged, with an old, broken plate serving as a palette in one hand and a worn out brush in another, thinking what should I paint. The melody started to play on the radio, it had a pinch of sitar, some harmonica, some really nice acoustic guitar, and a chorus "Reflections on the water, of sunlight's beautiful daughter". What a great line, I thought and looked it up. It was a song by a Swiss prog rock band from 70s, called Krokodil. I'm not a huge fan of prog, always prefered psychedelic rock or folk, but this song is beautiful, I thought, and called my painting by the name of it ✨
