My Son Sanctuary is a cluster of impressive Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and 14th centuries by the Kingdom of Champa, located in Quang Nam, Vietnam. It was recognized as a world heritage site since 1999.
The monuments are unique and without equal in Southeast Asia in the following ways: The My Son Sanctuary is an exceptional example of cultural interchange, with an indigenous society adapting to external cultural influences, notably the Hindu art and architecture of the Indian sub-continent. And the Champa Kingdom was an important phenomenon in the political and cultural history of South – East Asia, vividly illustrated by the ruins of My Son.
The beauty of this site inspired me to create this artwork.
