I have a fascination about sunflowers and I have painted them in many different ways. The petals make such interesting shapes and even when they are past their prime they still have a charm. I like to experiment with coloured backgrounds and I find this beautiful blue goes well with the colour of the sunflower. Pastel is a very sympathetic medium for these flowers and it starts to do them justice. This painting is in a white frame and white mount, ready to hang.
