Sunflowers Roses and Proteas 30x30 oil on canvas
In this painting, I sought to capture the vibrant energy and transient beauty of sunflowers, proteas, and roses on a 30x30” canvas. The interplay of these diverse flowers creates a dynamic composition that reflects the layered complexity of my experiences. The sunflowers stand tall and radiant, symbolizing the warmth and light often found in fleeting moments of clarity amidst the surreal. The proteas, with their unique forms, introduce an element of the exotic and unexpected, mirroring the unpredictable nature of my visions. Meanwhile, the roses add a touch of familiar elegance, grounding the piece in a sense of timeless beauty.

The brushstrokes are intentionally bold and textured, aiming to convey the raw and immediate nature of the images that appear during my REM intrusions. This technique allows for a sense of depth and movement, inviting viewers to look closer and discover the subtler details within the larger forms. The colors are both vivid and softly muted, creating a balance that is at once striking and harmonious.
