Artwork description:
Collagraph print of sunflowers in a blue and white jug. I love the combination of yellow and blue. As soon as I bought this bunch of sunflowers I knew exactly which jug they were going in when I brought them home. I also knew that I must draw them and make a print of them before they were consigned to the compost heap.
Printed on 350gsm cartridge paper .
A Collagraph print is one made from a plate with different textures. The printing plate is made from mount board. The process is a combination of intaglio and relief.
I created a collage of my image using fabrics, glues adhesive and then sealed and dried before printing. The beauty of this process is the way all the colours merge together when printed and no image will ever be the same.
