This apparently abstract painting is based on a field of sunflowers. Bright colors and wild, bold shapes evoke the sense of childish playfulness and positivity. Yet between the shapes one can notice a harsh black shadow. Is this positivity hiding something dark and tragic. There can not be happiness without sadness. And even on the brightest of days there is always a shadow lurking nearby.

The artwork is signed on the back and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.

I am taking extra care to photograph the paintings in a way that most accurately represents the color, textures and size of a painting. However the images you see online, may show a difference due to slight variation between browsers, devices and screen settings.

My paintings are made with professional quality acrylic and oil paints (Golden, Schmincke, Winsor & Newton, Amsterdam, Cobra).
