Original artwork description:

These brilliant sunflowers in an a ceramic vase were u-cut from an Oregon winery/orchard. I liked how the light filtering in the window backlit them and created the warm glow on the wooden table in opposition to the cool light outside. Very little blending happened in this alla prima painting, which was painted quickly to capture the lighting; so there is a textural, brushy surface to the painting.
