For those who love texture, this painting is magical! Painted from life at my home in Minneapolis, MN. Features a bouquet of sunflowers and dahlias with gomphrena (gumball flower) accents. The petals of the flowers are accentuated by the textural use of the palette knife to "carve" the paint into the desired shapes. The brushstrokes in the background add additional visual texture. The painting boasts a variety of shades of orange, fuchsia, and magenta in the dahlias, but also includes red, white, purple, and of course the golden yellow sunflowers. In the background, green, light blue, and magenta surround and accent the flowers.
