Sunflower is such a happy symbol. It feels like summer as soon as you see or think of it. There are many hectares of fields covered by sunflowers in the south of Spain. So inspired by the scenery of those yellow fields surrounded by the intensity of blue of the Andalusian sky, I used the shape of a sunflower to create this intricate circular design. In my mandalas, I like to create the sensation of three-dimension playing with light and shade. If you just pose your eyes on the image and relax your gaze as if you want to see through it… you will have the illusion of the reality of shapes.
