Watercolour painting of a girl gleefully jumping in the air. Children are my favourite subjects to paint, I love to portrait them in their imaginary dreamworlds. A child sees what it sees, they create their surroundings in their imaginations and their fantasy worlds to them are as real as the air we breath. I chose yellow for this painting as it reflects the joy this girl is feeling, she's jumping, and what may seem to us a little jump into a puddle, to her could be an imaginary sky dive, or jump from a cliff to a wide blue ocean. A child's innocence is a joy to paint and their genuineness is what makes them such captivating subjects.
