For me paintings act as a sort of visual diary, the word paintings add an extra dimension as they are about emotions or what I'm thinking about at the time. This painting is about the time of creating it, the words get a bit disjointed as interruptions make me lose my train of thought. But that just makes it even more about that moment in time.
The painting is a diptych and sealed with a satin vanish.
IT'S NOT EVEN ABOUT ANYTHING
I JUST MADE IT UP AS I WENT ALONG
BECAUSE THAT WAY IT BECOMES ONLY ABOUT
JUST IN THIS MOMENT OF TIME AND PLACE
SUNDAY SEVEN FIFTY FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON
AND IT STARTED TO RAIN
charcoal and acrylic on stretched canvas, sealed with satin varnish
