This is a work in encaustic (highly pigmented pharmaceutical grade beeswax hardened by damar resin) in which I've embossed some of the surfaces with stencils. I've used pearlized powdered pigment, as well, to "dust" some of the elevated surfaces. The bright blues, oranges, reds, a turquoise areas are offset by the silver and white highlighted areas. At present this is framed in a silver canvas floater frame, a inch and a half deep, but no frame is required since the work was created on a cradled panel, which is painted blue, and works as well framed or unframed. There's so much radiant light in this work that it suggested to me the idea of sunlight pouring, thus the title.
