This painting was inspired by many sunny coastal walks in Devon and Cornwall. I love the colourful hedgerows filled with wild flowers and the excitement of being near the ocean. It is this emotion I endeavour to capture in this painting. It was created with several layers of oil paints, use of the palette knife and brushes. The butterflies are integrated into the painting with collage. It is a deep edge canvas, painted around the edges and ready to hang
