‘Sun Giant’ is a mixed media collage/assemblage presented in a glazed, soft wood box frame. The image is 39cm x 39cm, with the framed size at 45cm x 45cm. The box depth is 3.5cm.

‘Sun Giant’ is one of a series of assemblages in response to coastal environments. It represents observations from a bright, early morning walk along an untamed coastal path.
‘Through grasses and
Sands beneath so beautiful a sun,
Discover in a fleeting glance
Beauty, in anonymous possession.’

‘Sun Giant combines lightly textured papers, tissue paper, canvas fabric painted and scraped with acrylic paint, and a cyanotype image. Found objects, which include pressed coastal wild flowers embedded in a panel of dried PVA glue , driftwood, pieces of plastic thread and a small glass bottle containing sand, have been arranged across the collaged and painted surface.
