This original linden and beech wood wall sculpture is one of the latest artworks of the skillful Bulgarian contemporary sculptor Nikolay Martinov, deeply inspired by Victorian art, geometrical symmetry, modernism and folk art. It is hand carved in linden and beech wood, creating one large three dimensional floral circular wall sculpture. It is one extraordinary large elaborate woodcarving masterpiece and exquisite home wall décor.
Nikolay Martinov’s work encompasses many contemporary art styles with the act of minimal drawing being key to his exploration of form and sculptural composition. Mining a space between figuration and abstraction, the artist consistently returns to nature as a point of departure, exploring algorithmic forms and floral shapes as a metaphor for transformation.
