Original artwork description:

Every Autumn I love to paint the dry and faded hydrangea heads, with their subtle blend of pink and violet, faded blues and greens. Bunches of them hang in my studio and turn from the vivid summer colour to more muted shades. Their leaves twist and dry. They are beautiful in death and for me mark summer's end.
