Summer rain, 2018.
Latest from my mini series of umbrellas and people. I like this topic because of it's symbolical meaning and connotation, as well as inexhaustible ways to express it, composition wise and colour wise. I prefer using watercolour with its transparency value to suggest fluidity of the scene. Image of people with umbrellas in the rain always has a mystical feel to it. I like presenting them as faceless silhouettes, with just a gesture of movement. Whether they just want to get home to their loved ones, or wander aimless in desire for solitude, they are alone with their thoughts, hidden from the rest of us.
This painting is sold unframed. Certificate of authenticity by me is included.

Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus watercolour inks, Winsor&Newton watercolours, Khadi 300gsm handmade watercolour paper
