I have tried to capture the wonderful exuberance of an english country garden in summer. I was especially pleased with the soft and bright pinks and the range of greens to add zest and freshness and contrast with the darker sludgy colours that bring depth. This is painted in my own garden. Please see the video on You Tube under Bradness Gallery if you would like to see more of our garden. One of my favourite artists is Pierre Bonnard. He painted pictures of the garden that were full of exuberance and contrasting shapes. We are extremely lucky in Sussex where I live to have some wonderful gardens to visit especially #greatdixter and #gravetyemanor

We opened our own garden for many years under the National Gardens scheme. This is a British charity where private gardens open to raise funds for nursing charities. Home made cakes are an extra bonus!
