Original artwork description:

'Summer party' is inspired by a longing for summer and all it has to bring. I wanted to use bright uplifting and warm colours, mainly pink, oranges and yellows. This is a happy piece which I really enjoyed painting. It is a painting about getting through the long winter and celebrating summer.
I first painted in the background of yellow graduating down to orange/raw sienna. I then began to add pre mixed colours in long downward brush strokes and eventually applied thicker paint with a pallet knife. These brush marks represent a crowed of people having fun.
