"Summer Land" was inspired by the beautiful warm colours of the moors in Summer. This is one of my regular haunts where I hear the sky lark ascending, and the curlew. With a moody sky, the sunrays appear through the clouds casting light over tones of purple, green and red in the wild bracken. Your eye will wander over the textures in the foreground to the delicate clouds in the distance.

An original artwork, one of a kind, the painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas, which are painted white. I use impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife, which creates a contemporary painting, lying somewhere between abstraction and realism. A frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
